Project goals (1-2 sentences) – This project aims to resolve taxonomic problems with important Arctic fish species while advancing the knowledge of Arctic fishes using archived and new material. The project created a database of historical and new distribution data, improve methods of field identification, evaluates/validates species information prior to adding to database using museum specimens, and makes records available in an online mapping tool and online catalogue of fishes.

Geographic focus – Western, Canadian, and high Arctic waters

Taxonomic focus – Fish

Countries involved in activity – Russia and the United States at present with likely future collaboration with additional international curators as the geographic focus expands
