Arctic Tern

At present, pages are limited to the 2 species of Terns that nest in the US EEZ of the Western Arctic.

Terns are smaller than gulls and usually breed on freshwater bodies, lakes and rivers. Many terns are famous for their long-distance migrations, e.g. Arctic Terns flying to sub-Antarctica, or Aleutian Terns wintering off China. They are coastal birds and mostly feed on fish; they can often be seen while carrying out their spectacular 'dive-bombings' in feeding flocks.
