Tubenose birds
At present, pages are limited to the 2 species of tubenose birds that either nest (Northern Fulmar) or are common (Short-tailed Shearwater) in the US EEZ of the Western Arctic.
Tubenoses are known for their soaring flight style. Whereas Northern Fulmars are true
arctic breeders, some Shearwater species are actually breeding in Antarctica
and only migrate to the Arctic in the non-breeding season (Arctic summer).
Tubenoses feed mostly on squid and fish, and in the case of the Northern
Fulmar, it relies heavily on fisheries offal.
