Nuculana pernula (Müller, 1779)
A very common benthic bivalve mollusk of arctic seas.
- Length to 36 mm. Adults usually 22-27 mm.
- Periostracum yellowish to light brown, dull.
- Inside – white.
Habitat & Distribution
- Infaunal mainly.
- On silty sediments.
- Sublitoral mainly.
- Boreal-arctic species.
- Development without pelagic larvae.
