- body upto 3 cm
Color & Characteristics
- clear translucent, with white or blue hues
- 11-12 marginal tentacles in 16 groups (easily broken)
- 8 radial canals
- top of bell with a knob-shpped process
Habitat
- Primarily Arctic, with records in the subarctic Atlantic
- Bathypelagic
- ROV observations between 900 and 2600 m, while plankton nets suggest slightly greater numbers below 2000 m, than between 1000-2000 m
Feeding
- Diet is unknown
Life cycle
- Details are unknown, but likely holoplanktonic, without a polyp stage
